Institute of Ink provides structured, hands-on training within your scheduled course dates. If a student would like additional in-person training beyond their enrolled course, further training days may be arranged for an additional fee, subject to availability.
Advanced Training Day
$750 per day
Designed for students who would like to join a scheduled group training day to refine technique, build confidence, and gain further supervised practice.
- Held within a scheduled Institute of Ink class

- Student must complete required theory and practice work prior
- Models are the student’s responsibility, with guidance provided where possible
Private 1:1 Mentorship
$1,200 per day
A premium private training day tailored to the student’s individual needs, technique, confidence level, and area of focus.

Eligibility for Additional Training
Additional training is only available to students who have completed the required online theory, submitted practice work where required, and demonstrated preparation to a suitable standard. Additional training is not included in the original course fee and must be booked and paid for separately.
Please note: additional training days are subject to availability and are designed to support continued skill development. They do not replace the requirement for independent practice, theory completion, model sourcing, or ongoing portfolio building after training.
In Person Fine Line Tattoo Training
During the in-person training, students will perform treatments under close supervision in a small group learning environment.
Training includes:
• Demonstrations by the trainer
• Step-by-step guided practice
• Live model treatments
• Individual technique correction
• Real treatment workflow experience
Institute of Ink limits class sizes to ensure high levels of trainer support and supervision.
Live Model Experience
Practical training includes working on live tattoo models under trainer supervision.
Students begin with:
Practice skins
Simulated exercises
Model procedures
This progressive training method ensures students develop technical confidence before performing treatments.
Cosmetic Tattoo Model Policy
Institute of Ink provides assistance with sourcing training models, however cosmetic tattoo models are not guaranteed.
Due to the nature of the beauty industry, models may occasionally cancel or reschedule at short notice.
To ensure training continues smoothly:
• Students may be asked to provide their own models where possible
• Backup models are recommended
• If a model cancels, alternative training exercises will be provided
• Students may practise techniques on mannequin skins or simulated exercises if required
Institute of Ink will always make reasonable efforts to assist with models, however model availability cannot be guaranteed.
Training outcomes and course completion are not dependent on a specific model attending.
This policy ensures training continues professionally even if unexpected model cancellations occur.

Before enrolment is accepted, students must satisfy all of the following conditions:
Age Requirement
Students must be at least 18 years old.
Device & Software Requirements
Must have access to an iPad (or tablet with equivalent capabilities)
Must have installed the following apps: Procreate and Canva
Preparation of Online Modules
No exceptions will be made — if modules are incomplete you cannot begin the live/practical sessions
All online (theory) modules must be studied and fully completed at least 5 days prior to the course commencement date
